Trap Game!

Tomorrow, the Georgia Bulldogs travel to the loveliest village on the plain and they face the Auburn Tigers at 12:30eastern & 11:30 central time. This is the oldest rivalry in the Deep South and this will be the 112th time these two teams have meet. the history between Georgia and Auburn is extremely close! Auburn leads the series 53-50-8 but Georgia has outscored the War Tigers 1,730-1,685. The only good stat that leans towards the Dawgs is that lately the visiting team usually wins.

This is a game that makes me very nervous. On paper, it would seem that the Dawgs should win it easily. But the games aren’t played on paper; they are played on the field. Even thought the War Tigers are having a tough year, they still have good athletes that can make some big plays. Also, they are very desperate! Think about it, they feel like they have something to prove, they want to try and salvage the rest of their season, become bowl eligible and save their coach. In order for them to become bowl eligible, they have to beat Georgia, the team with the best offense in the SEC or an undefeated Alabama team who is ranked #1 in the country. Auburn running back Brad Lester is saying that not only will the War Tigers beat the Dawgs; they will also beat Alabama on Nov 29th. It seems the Dawgs hurt his feelings last year by wearing black and dancing on the sidelines to Soulja Boy. I guess he didn’t care that we beat them 45-20, he was just upset about the color of our jerseys and the celebration dance. I think Brad Lester needs to stop worrying about the wardrobe of the other team and start worrying about his weak offense.
All that aside, it should be a good, tough game. If the Dawgs play the way they have played for most of the season, they should win comfortably. But if they come out and play like they did in the 1st half of the Bama game or the way they have played against the Gators they could be in serious trouble. All I know is the Dawgs defense has to step it up and stop the limping Auburn offense that has a mobile QB which always give the Dawgs trouble. This is a trap game for the Dawgs, they don’t have a lot to gain from wining, but have a lot to lose if they don’t win, where as the War Tigers need a win desperately to make it to a bowl game. Again, if the Dawgs play the way they have played most of the year, they shouldn’t have a problem. Let’s just hope they show up and take care of business!

Go Dawgs!
