Red Hot Hawks!

The Atlanta Hawks are picking up where the left off last year when they pushed the eventual NBA Champions to 7 games in the first round of the playoffs. The red hot Hawks are 6-0 on the season and they are looking to extend that streak tonight to 7-0 when the play those same Boston Celtics. Maybe the Hawks are for real this year! (I will reserve my judgment for later on in the season.) Even though they lost their 6th man in the offseason to Greece, they have replaced him with two outstanding bench players that have more than taken up the slack. Also, all of the starters are contributing and they are not just relaying on Joe Johnson. Last night in their win over Chicago, they had six players in double figures by the end of the third quarter. Even with Josh Smith being out, the Hawks have put together 6 solid games and have 6 wins to show for it. Al Horford (last years runner up in the rookie of the year voting) has definitely picked up Josh Smith’s production and had 27 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocked shots in the win last night. Not bad for a second year player! Tonight is going to be a real test for the team. They didn’t win a game last year in Boston and they are looking to reverse that trend. They tip the ball off at 7:30 and it should be a great game between the defending champions and the hottest team in the league!
Go Hawks!
