USC Upset opens the door for the Dawgs!

It happened again! Can you believe that the number one team in the nation has gone into Corvallis, Oregon and lost to a 1-2 team? The same thing happened 2 years ago when USC travelled to Oregon St ranked #3 and got upset by the Beavers! The game last night was amazing, way more exciting than most of the Thursday night games. Oregon St. took a 21-point lead into the looker room at half time and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. USC had been allowing an average of 59 yards rushing against their previous opponents. But their 5’8 running back had right at 100 yards in the first half alone. The Beavers weren’t doing this by running trick plays or misdirection, they were running the ball right at the heart of the Trojan defense. They just couldn’t tackle that little guy. I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing! USC came back in the second half, but just couldn’t make up the 21-point deficit. The final of the game was 27-21 and the mighty Trojans will drop out of the #1 spot. David defiantly took down Goliath last night!
That opens the door for the Dawgs to move up with a win this weekend against Alabama. This is by far the biggest game on the college football schedule this weekend and I hope the upsets don’t continue. The mighty Bulldogs take on the always-dangerous Crimson Tide on Saturday at 7:45 on ESPN. This game is so big, that ESPN’s “College Game Day” will broadcast from the campus on Saturday and the team has called for a “Blackout” in the stadium on Saturday night!
Now the game has gotten even bigger. With a win for the Dawgs, we could move back into the #1 spot. #2 Oklahoma is playing #24 TCU and even with a win, #3 Georgia could jump the Sooners because of the opponent they are playing. But, it is not going to be that easy! The Dawgs will have an extremely tough task beating Bama. They are coming off a big win against Arkansas last week; they have an experienced QB in John Parker Wilson and solid receiving corp. Then they run defense is the best in the SEC. It is going to be fun to watch the best run “D” goes up against Knowshon Moreno and Caleb King! It will be a battle of the lineman that is for sure! Also, Stafford and the receivers have got to have a good game for us to win. It is going to be an exciting game. It could come down to a last minute field goal to win!

Both teams are undefeated and have been talking smack back and forth all week. Bama’s strength and conditioning coach is saying the reason we are wearing black is because we are going to our own funeral, while Coach Richt has worn black everyday since that comment saying he wants to be properly dressed for the service. All of this only adds to the hype! It is going to be a crazy day in Athens on Saturday and I can’t wait to get there, it is going to be crazy! I am pretty confident that the Dawgs are going to pull out a win. Look for me on TV, I will be the one in black!
Go Dawgs!
