The FeEx Cup finale

This weekend is the last official PGA tournament of the season. Even though there will be more tournaments and events between now and next year, this is suppose to be the big finale. The Tour Championship is being held here in Atlanta at East Lake Country Club. The top thirty players on tour are competing for the FedEx Cup. Well, that is not really true. They were all competing to win the cup a few weeks ago, but Vijay Singh wrapped up the title two weeks ago. Even if Vijay shoots 152 for each round this weekend, no one can earn enough points to pass him in the final tally. So there is somewhat of a lack luster finish to the year. But these guys are still trying to win the tournament and raise their current position in the rankings. Even though Vijay will walk with the 10 million dollar prize for winning the FedEx cup, the winner of the tournament will also get a pretty nice purse, over a million. It seems like a lot of the American players that played in the Ryder Cup last week are keeping the momentum going. Anthony Kim, Phil Mickelson, Justin Leonard and Jim Furyk have all turned in a good first round and seem to be hanging tough in the second. Even though the winner of the overall FedEx race is already set, there is still a good battle for the tournament win and to finish in the top five of the finial standings. It is going to be a good weekend for golf!
