On this day when most of us are not working (sorry Meg), I don’t want to let people forget the reason for this national holiday. It is a day to honor the great men and women who are serving and have served for our country in the military. These brave men and women are putting their lives on the line everyday so we can continue to enjoy the freedoms that we often take for granted. Many great Americans have lost their lives protecting our country. Including my uncle who lost his life in 1969 in the Vietnam War. I am actually named in his honor. Please, enjoy the day, attend a cookout, but just don’t forget the true reason for the day.
Thanks to all of the armed forces, we really, really appreciate what you do!
