Wine Review – 2005 Fess Parker Melange Blanc

I have reviewed a previous offering from Fess Parker and both have been very enjoyable. The 2005 Melange Blanc falls into that category as well. This is another wine that I was introduced to by being a member of the California Wine Club. This pleasant white is a blend of roussanne, marsanne, and greache blanc. It has a golden hay or a straw color and aromas of melon, honeysuckle, and minerals. On the palate, it is very fruity with hints of cantaloupe, citrus, apple, and some floral. This wine is extremely complex and will entice you to have another sip to see where it will take you next. Even though it has a pretty high alcohol content, it is very smooth with a slight sweetness on the finish. It is a very refreshing wine and would be great to sip on the porch with some smoky cheese and crackers. It retails at $20 and I have recently just place a reorder for more!

Cheers!
