We miss you Mikey
Today marks the tenth anniversary of the passing of Widespread Panic Guitarist Mikey Houser and to celebrate his life, family and friends are hosting a tribute concert that will stream live with video at Couch-Tour.com. For those of you who don't know, Mikey lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.
This is from Couch-Tour.com’s web site: “We Miss You, Mikey”, a tribute concert in memory of Michael Houser, will take place at the Georgia Theatre on Friday, August 10, 2012. Michael was a founding member and the original lead guitarist of Widespread Panic. This sold out show will feature John Bell (of Widespread Panic), John Keane and Friends; Outformation; The Heap with Sunny Ortiz (of Widespread Panic) ; Romper Stompers; and Dangfly. The show will conclude with a tribute jam. Ramble West Productions will capture this amazing night of music, providing an audio and video stream that can be found on www.couch-tour.com. The Stream will be provided by LapcastTV. This stream will be free but donations to The Michael Houser Music Fund at Athens Academy are strongly encouraged.
If you can break away from the Olympics, this will be a nice night to kick back on the couch and listen to some good music and great memories of Mikey! He was a true original and you can still feel his presence at the Panic shows.
