New Years Weekend

This year we decided to do something different for New Years Eve. Granted, the change was brought on due to the fact that our usual NYE plans were not available this year due to a venue change by Widespread Panic, but I think it worked out great. We decided to rent a mountain house with some other friends and spend three nights up there to ring in the New Year. The Joyners and Swinneys along with their kids joined us in a non renovated 80’s house up in Big Canoe. It was a beautiful mountain setting right next to a waterfall. The house was nice, but could have been much nicer with some renovations, but we made it work and everyone seemed pretty comfortable. We ate some delicious meals, drank some wonderful wines (along with some other beverages) and had an all around good time. The kids loved playing together and there weren’t any major breakdowns. They really like decorating for the NYE/Birthday party and loved the fact they could have cake (or cupcakes) several times that weekend. Overall, it was a great way to say goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011 and for me to spend my birthday. I hope everyone had as good as a NYE as we did, if not, maybe you should join us next year! We are already planning next year’s New Years trip!

Here are some pictures from the weekend:
Here are the wines with had with dinner, 2000 St. Supery Merlot. They were very smooth and silky and went nicely with the perfectly cooked beef tenerloin that Meg made.

Here are Mac and Henry at the start of the birthday party!
Here is the cake we had for the birthday party, yeah I know, I am old!

Here is the entire Joyner family (Jenn, Natalie, Mark and Kate) at the Dance Party that we had early in the evening on New Years Eve. The kids really loved this portion of the night!

Little Kate was a great source of entertainment for everyone all weekend, what a cutie!

Here is Chloe at the Dance Party, she really wore herself out!

After the Dance Party, we set the kids up for a movie. The kids loved to watch movies together along with Chloe. So cute!
Here are Mike and Kelley right after the new year arrived!

Here are Jenn and Mark right after the countdown!

Here is Meg and I making a new years toast!

Cheers and Happy New Year!
