Star Wars/Lake recap!

As you know from the previous posts, we went to Lake Guntersville for the weekend. We went with some friends and their kids (all boys). On Friday we took all the boys to the Star Wars Jedi Experience Exhibit at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. All I can say is the boys loved it and had a great time! The Star Wars exhibit was really cool, but I feel like the boys might have been too young to truly appreciate the magnitude of what they were seeing. Theses were original costumes, models and props used in the movies. Most were behind glass and all the boys wanted to do is touch them, not read (or hear) about the history behind them. They did like the C3P0 presentation about the different types of robots, they loved the Millennium Falcon simulator and playing around with the hands on exhibits. This was great for them, but I am sure all of the real Star Wars nerds, I mean fans, would get a lot more out of the exhibit.

The kids also loved the rest of the Space and Rocket museum. They really enjoyed the Mission to Mars ride, the Energy Depletion Zone (playground) and wondering around looking at all of the cool rockets and other space vehicles. The adults really had a good time as well. It is a great place for both kids and adults to learn more about the US Space program. Here are some pictures from our visit to the Star Wars Exhibit and the US Space and Rocket Center.

This was a ride in the Energy Depletion Zone. The boys must have ridden this 30 times!

After we spent the day in Huntsville, we went back to relax at the lake. Lake Guntersville is a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. In the area where we were staying, it was not crowded at all. The water was nice, clean and very refreshing. Everyone loved spending the day on the docks fishing and swimming. Here are some pictures from our days at the lake.

The boys also loved the hot tub, as did the adults

To finish off Mac’s birthday week extravaganza, there was a Darth Vader pinata!
