Wine Review - 2007 Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Rouge

This is a classic French Cote du Rhone and I love classic French Cote du Rhones! Since it is made in the classic French style, don’t expect overpowering fruit or full body. It is a medium bodied wine with good structure and blance. It is made from Syrah and Grenache and looks beautiful in the glass. It has the nice translucent edges that you look for in a red wine. It has aromas of plum and dark cherries. In the mouth you have a nice balance of dark fruit, minerals and earth and it ends with a smooth juicy finish. As with most Cote de Rhone’s, this wine goes well with a variety of foods. We had it with barbequed pork and it went exceptionally well. For a wine like this I would expect to pay a little more, but I found it for $12.99. That is a pretty good value to me!

Cheers!
