Atlanta was one of the cities selelcted to host a game in the World Football Challenge. This is a round robin tournment between four of the best soccer teams in the world. The teams taking part in this event are Chelsea Football Club, AC Milan, FC Internazionale Milano and Club America. The game that is going to be played in Atlanta will be between AC Milan and Club America and will take place at the Georgia Dome. I am glad to see that the organizers took a chance on bringing a game to Atlanta. I feel it is a great market for soccer and it will be a success. For some reason, the organizers of US Soccer always avoid Atlanta when scheduling friendlies or world cup qualifiers. I guess it has something to do with there not being an open aired facility and having to play on turf, but who knows? Anyway to get more info on the World Football Challenge, check out their site.
