Since we are in the heart of winter, my wine tastes usually sway towards the big, bold, hearty wines. The Kunde Estate Cabernet falls right into this category.
Kunde Estate is located in Sonoma, California and is known for producing elegant, bold reds. Also, this winery is very eco friendly and runs a completely sustainable vineyard. On to the wine; in the glass, this wine is very dark and alluring. By looking at the color and the legs, you know it is going to warm you up on a cold night! It is 93% cabernet sauvignon with 3% syrah, 3% malbec and 1% petit verdot. It has aromas of herbs, raspberry, and some spice. On the palate, there are strong flavors of black cherry, currant and a slight licorice tastes. It is a full-bodied wine that has a long, smooth finish. Perfect for a cold winter night. We enjoyed it with a nicely grilled flank steak but would also go nicely with a hearty stew. It retails for around $18.99 and should be easy to find in most wine stores.
Cheers!

Hi Alan,
Thank you so much for recommending our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon. Your recommendation to pair it with a hearty stew, make mine beef!, is exactly what I serve this wine with on cold winter nights. The picture you show however is our old label. I would be more than happy to send you a new picture. Please let me know what address you would like me to send it to.
With Best Regards,

I really enjoyed this wine along with your 2003 Claret. I posted a review of this wine on my site back on Friday, January 11th, 2008. Please check that one out as well.
Thanks again, Alan
