Sleeping in a wine barrel?

We have all thought about it, falling into a big wine cask and having to drink ourselves out. Then once all the wine was gone you just lie there and take a nap in the wonderfully old wooden wine cask. Maybe that is just me? Anyway, now you can actually sleep in a once used wine cask. In the Netherlands, there is a hotel that has created their rooms from salvaged wine casks. The De Vrouwe van Stavoren Hotel has created modest two-person rooms with standard amenities including a bathroom and sitting area from wine casks that were once filled with 14,500 liters of Beaujolais. According to the owner of the hotel, the large wine barrels make excellent rooms considering their strength and airtight seals. The rates are competitive in the small port town of Stavoren, and are extremely cheap in the offseason. If you are ever in the area, I think this is a must visit. I am sure the rooms smell great! Also, what a cool story you would have to tell if you stayed there!
