Currently the NHL is on their mid season break and the All-Star Game will be held in hockey crazed Montreal. There are two Thrashers making the trip north of the border,
Illya Kovalchuk will be playing in the game on Sunday and
Brian Little will be playing in the Young Stars game on Saturday night. I personally love the skills competition and I think the players have fun with it too! One of the events in the skills competition is the hardest shot. Last years winner was
Zdeno Chara who topped the radar gun at 103mhp! How would you like to have to stop that bullet! No Thanks! Anyway, the skills competition and the young stars game will be held on Saturday night at 7pm on Versus.
Last year the All-Star weekend was held in Atlanta and the East squad won the game by the score of 8-7. I am sure this year’s game will be higher scoring and I really feel bad for the goalies. There isn’t much defense played in these games and the goalies are left out on an island all alone. But it is still fun to watch. The game will take place on Sunday at 6pm on Versus. This is the 57th All-Star game and it is being held in Montreal who is celebrating their 100th year of hockey this year. It is safe to say, this is going to be a extremely hard ticket to get!
