Game of the year in the SEC!

Basically the SEC Title comes down to the game this weekend in Jacksonville between Georgia and Florida. Both teams will have a couple more SEC games after this one, but both teams should be able to handle those teams. Currently both the Dawgs and the Gators each have a loss and they are both to SEC West teams. So neither has lost a game to an SEC East opponent and the winner of this game will be penciled in to play Alabama in the SEC Championship game at the Dome on Dec 6th! But even if these two teams were winless going into this weekend, it would still be a big game. This is one of the oldest rivalries in college football and in my opinion, the best! With Georgia leading the series 47-37 with 2 ties. So even though the Gators have dominated in the last 18 years winning 15 of those games, the overall series lead is still with the Dawgs. But I feel with the win last year, the tide is turning back towards Athens.
The game tomorrow is going to be a tough one! Both offenses are really clicking. Last week the Dawgs put up 52 points on a good LSU team and the Gators put up 63 on a bad Kentucky team, but both offenses were cruising. UGA QB Matthew Stafford and UF QB Tim Tebow are both having great seasons. They control the way their teams play and if they are both on, it is going to be a shoot out! As for the defense, it could come down to which team has the ball last wins! The Georgia defense will need to come up with a turnover or two and hope that we can stop the fast Gators offense a couple of times and force them to punt. Speaking of punting, we also need to be aware of their incredible kick returner. Brandon James is the best kick returner in college football right now and will definitely be a threat to take one back every time we kick to him. The entire Florida team has speed; they are probably the fastest team in division 1 football. That is going to cause a problem for us. We need to contain them and make sure we finish our tackles. If not, it could be a long day for the Dawgs!

All I know is this is a huge game for both teams, quite possibly the biggest game ever between these two teams. I am sure the Gators are plotting a retaliation for the TD celebration that the Dawgs had last year. It is all the media is talking about! Also, the media is hinting that there might be a uniform modification for the Dawgs. They are saying the Dawgs might come out in Red pants. I don’t see it happening, but I like the fact that Coach Richt isn’t saying a word!
I am pumped and can’t wait until kickoff! It is going to be a battle and it is going to be fun to watch. Kick off is at 3:30 on CBS, but the hype has been going on for 364 days now! Don’t you just love college football!

Go Dawgs!
