Cancer walks this weekend!

OK, October is coming to close soon and that will be the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the year of 2008. But before the month ends and everything that has been pink goes back to their normal colors, there will be two pretty important walks. Both are happening this weekend with the biggest being the Breast Cancer 3-Day. Thousands of women (and some men) will walk 20 miles a day starting on Friday in Alpharetta and ending in downtown on Sunday. The opening ceremonies will be held at North Point Mall and the closing ceremonies will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center. This walk is no easy task, these brave walkers have to push their bodies to their limits, they have to endure the weather and most will be sleeping in tents! If you haven’t already, please take the time to make a donation to one of our friends who are walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. It means so much to Meg and I that these friends are walking in honor of her. Good luck girls!

Also this weekend, there is another cancer walk, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. This one isn’t as long but it is just as important. This is a 3-mile walk around Atlantic Station and is family friendly. Since Meg is still recovering from her surgery last week, we have decided to do this walk and we plan on taking the boys with us. I just hope they will stay in the stroller for the entire walk! If you would like to donate or join our team (please come walk with us) please do so at this link below:

This is a very important month for Breast Cancer Awareness and this weekend is the most important one in the city of Atlanta. If you can’t walk in either of the walks, please make a donation to breast cancer research. I know times are tough right now, so if you can’t make a donation, please get out and support the walkers. They will be all over the city this weekend. Thanks again for everyone’s support in Meg’s battle against breast cancer. We are in the home stretch now in her recovery, but this will be a cause that we will help fight for the rest of our lives or until there is a cure!
