Good job Uga VII!

On Saturday, the #1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs took the field and did what they had to do. It wasn’t a slaughter like some teams tend to do to flex their muscle against a lower level school. Just look at Oklahoma winning 57-2 over Chattanooga. A majority of the Dawgs starters only played the first half and some of the third quarter. So it was good to get some of the second and third stringers some good experience. Stafford looked solid, going 13 out of 21 for 275 yards and 2 TD’s. Moreno had 8 carries for 59 yards and 3 TD’s. He would have had more if he didn’t cramp up early in the third nearly giving everyone in the stadium a heart attack. Every thought he had pulled a hamstring on the 24 yard run. The two guys that back up Moreno also had a great day running the ball. Caleb King had 12 carries for 95 yards and Richard Samuel carried the ball 6 times for 35 yards. Another bight spot for the Dawgs was their kicking game. That was a question mark going into the season. But with place kicker, Blair Walsh making a 52-yard field goal in the first, he showed he has the leg to make some long ones if needed. The UGA receivers also looked strong, especially freshman A.J. Green. That kid came into Athens with a lot of hype and he lived up to all of it in his first game. He is going to be good! Here is A.J. making one of his catches.
Another Dawg that is going to be good is Uga VII. He was officially introduced before the game with a ceremony were he officially got the spiked collar put around his neck by school President Michael Adams. Uga VII came out and proudly posed for all of the photographers before heading over to his new dawg house to relax and watch the game. Once the game was in hand, Uga VII decided to catch a quick nap. He, just like the other freshman, need to learn how to pace themselves during a game. But I thought Uga VII did a great job in leading the team to his first win as mascot! Here is he is during the passing of the bone ceremony.Good job Uga VII!
