Wine Review: Patianna 2006 Sauvignon Blanc

Sticking with the organic theme that I brought up yesterday, I am reviewing an organic winery, Patianna. Actually they are a biodynamic winery witch is more restrictive and intensive than just being certified organic. They are known for producing fresh crisp Sauvignon Blancs and this vintage holds true. It is made of 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes and fermented in stainless steel tanks. It is light in color and has aromas of melon, citrus, and a hint of herbs. This is probably due to the biodynamic farming. On the palate you get tastes of apricot, lemon and some mineral on the finish. It is a nice, refreshing wine that goes great while hanging by the pool or on the deck. This wine retails for around $16 but I have seen it cheaper on a couple sites online. I really enjoyed this wine and look forward to getting another bottle soon.

Cheers!
