OK, I know the Thrashers didn’t win but their main developmental affiliate (minor league) team did. The
Chicago Wolves won the Calder Cup playoffs in game 6 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by the score of 5-2. This is a big deal for the Wolves and the Thrashers since there were a lot of players on the Wolves team that spent a lot of time up playing for the Thrashers in the last year or so. Players like Jason Krog (who had a 4 point night including hat trick in game 6 and was named the AHL MVP), Brett Sterling, Nathan Oystrick, Joel Kwiatkowski, Darren Haydar and goaltender Ondrej Pavelec all spent time up playing for Atlanta last season. Now they are winners of the AHL Championship. This is great for the Wolves and the Thrashers. I am sure several of those guys will be up with the big club next season and this experience has made them all stronger and will in turn make the Thrashers stronger!
Now if the Thrashers could just get a coach, they would be on the road to an improved season next year.

Nice job Wolves! Also, nice mustaches guys!
