The University of Georgia has another National Championship to add to their already extensive collection! The Men’s Tennis team defeated the University of Texas on Tuesday to win their 6th National Title and second in a row! This season was a little tougher than last year when they had an undefeated season and went 4-0 in their championship run. Their record going into the tournament was 27-3. This year they lost two of their best players in John Isner and Matic Omerzel, who are both playing on the pro circuit now. Also they had several key injuries to overcome. Coach Manny Diaz has done a great job building the tennis program at UGA and I am confident they will get another title soon, they don’t rebuild UGA tennis every couple of years, they just reload.Go Dawgs!
