Wine Review – Alama de los Andes 2004 Reserva Malbec

Malbec’s from Mendoza are becoming the standard for the varietal. This region of Argentina is producing the most enjoyable malbecs around. The offering by Guillermo Banfi lives up to the other great malbecs from the area. This wine is smooth and supple. On the nose you will find some heavy berry and licorice scents. In the mouth you will get some black cherry and current flavors with a nice, smooth finish. This tastes like you imagine a malbec should taste like. This would go with all kinds of food from hamburgers to a nice filet. The price is reasonable, it retails for about $14 dollars.

Cheers!
