Last night in the Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, one of the biggest bonehead moves happened! DeSean Jackson, who is a rookie, caught a pass from Donovan McNabb and ran 60 yards towards the end zone for an apparent touchdown. It was a great catch and run, but the only problem was the end zone was actually 61 yards away! At the one-yard line, DeSean decided to flick the ball back and begin his celebration. He apparently thought he made it into the end zone and therefore he flicked the ball back as to say, it is no big deal that I just scored. After review, the officials ruled it a backward pass not a fumble and placed the ball at the one yard line. The Eagles eventually scored on a running play. But that could have gone down in history as one of the biggest bonehead moves in history. It must be something about that stadium? Leon Lett had a similar move several years ago!
I was always told to “behave like you have been there before” and to “finish the drill”. DeSean didn’t do either of those things! Dallas went on to win the game and luckily it wasn't because of DeSeans antics, it was because the Eagles defense couldn't stop anything!
