Hawks first round playoff opponent is set!

This season has been the best season in many years for the Atlanta Hawks! They closed out the regular season last night by beating the Cleavland Cavaliers and ending the season with a record of 53-29. It seems the years with the “rebuilding” tag are behind us. Well at least for now! But that is for a future post. Back in the present, the Hawks have clinched the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs. The Hawks secured the 3rd spot earlier in the week but the 5th and 6th spots were still undecided until last night. Once the Miami Heat beat the New Jersey Nets in OT, the seeds were set. Miami will now play Boston and Atlanta will play Milwaukee.

This match up bodes well for the Hawks. They have beaten the Bucks 2 out of 3 meetings this year and will have home court advantage. Game 1 of the series will be on Saturday down at Philips Arena. Tip off is set for 5:30pm and the game will air on ESPN. I feel like the Hawks should win this series pretty handily, but if they make it to round two, they will most likely face Orlando and they have owned us this year winning 3 out of 4 games. But let’s worry about that once we bury the Bucks!

Go Hawks!
