Wine Review – 2007 Foxglove Chardonnay
This impressive chardonnay is brought to you by the winemaking brothers at Varner Winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This medium bodied white has a nice straw color in the glass and aromas of tropical fruit and pears. It is crisp and clean on the palate with notes of green apple and mineral with just a touch of oak. It is fresh and lively and would go nicely with a warm spring or summer day. The best thing about this refreshing chardonnay is the price. It ranges from $12.95 to $16.95. I would go well with white fish dishes, shellfish, or chicken.
