Capital One Bowl!

On Jan 1st, the Georgia Bulldogs hit the field again down in Orlando, Fl. Kick off is set for 1pm. The Dawgs will be facing a tough Big 10 opponent in Michigan State. I give Georgia a huge advantage in talent and ability, but that won’t win the game. They still have to come out and execute and put some points on the board. The Spartans have a great running back in Javon Ringer. We will need to have good linebacker play to keep under control. Ringer has put up some big numbers in a lot of games against lesser talent, but when he went up against the big boys in the conference, he was less than impressive. He didn’t have over 100 yards in any of the games against Penn St., Ohio St, Wisconsin or Iowa. But after what Tech did to the Dawgs defense, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some options thrown into the Spartans game plan.

This is going to be the last game for several of the Dawgs big time players; Ramarcus Brown, Tripp Chandler, Dannell Ellerbe, Demiko Goodman, Corvey Irvin, Mohamed Massaquoi, Brian Mimbs, and Brannan Southerland. Those guys are going to be missed next year. Also, this could be the last game for some underclassmen, namely Knowshon Moreno and Matthew Stafford. There is still no word on whether or not they are going to go pro after this game.

I predict a victory for the Dawgs on New Years day but it could be a close game. If they come out angry from the loss to Georgia Tech and inflict their will on the Spartans, it shouldn’t be close. But if they come out too cocky and think they are just going to be handed the trophy, they might get upset. Lets hope its not the latter!

Go Dawgs!
