What a difference a year makes!

This week a year ago, the week before Thanksgiving, Meg and I had our heads shaved. Earlier in the week, her hair started falling out which was two weeks after her 1st chemo treatment. Which was right on when we were told her hair would start falling out. So on Wednesday of that week, we took the plunge and had our friends, the Cobbs, take the clippers to our heads. It was a pretty emotional day but looking back things couldn’t have worked out better. Meg first tried to get into her hairdresser to do the deed, but he was booked. Then she tried to get the wig lady to do it since she offered, but she was unavailable as well. So we called on our friends who were happy to help out. After having a couple glasses of liquid bravery, we plugged the clippers in and started to take it off. Here we are right after it was all taken off!

That buzzed hair eventually fell out as well and she was totally bald for a long time after the chemo treatments were over. Even though a lot of people had no idea because her wig was so good. After about 8 months from her first treatment, her hair started to return and within 10 months, she had a full head of hair. She quickly dumped the wig and looked stylish with her short hairdo! Now she is sporting the chemo curl and looking great. She is not a big fan of the chemo curl, but she is thankful to have her natural hair back. It will grow out soon and will probably go back straight in time. But what a difference a year makes!
