SI Cover

Boy, I am hoping and praying that the Sports Illustrated jinx no longer exists. It used to be that when someone was on the cover, soon after they would be injured or have a huge failure. The reason I hope the curse no longer exists is because the University of Georgia Bulldogs are ranked #1 in the SI poll and three of the top players on the team are on the cover, Stafford, Moreno and Ellerbe. If any of those guys get hurt, we will have a tough time winning it all. Now, don’t get me wrong, the Dawgs are very deep at almost all positions, including quarterback, tailback and linebacker. But it would just be a tough road if we lost either of those guys. But I say, screw the jinx! Let’s break the curse and win it all. Anyway, since SI is now doing regional covers, there are some other teams on the covers in different areas of the country, even though they have UGA ranked #1 in all the issues. Either way, it is good to get some positive publicity and not all negative pub we have been getting.

Go Dawgs!

Don't worry about the curse, Alan! Actually, 52% of athletes that appear on an SI cover actually improve their game. Cool, huh?
