1st practice of the season!

OK, one down and 25 practices to go until the kick off of the 2008 season for the Georgia Bulldogs. Also, this was the first time a UGA team as taken the field as a preseason #1. They practiced in shorts and helmets and won’t put on the full pads until the weekend sessions. Monday was the first day of a season that I am hoping will be an exceptional one. There is a lot of pressure on the team and so far they haven’t handled it that well. There have been several arrests over the off season and I hope I don’t hear about anymore during the season. Coach Richt has made downtown Athens off limits to the guys in hopes that will keep them out of trouble. I know it is going to be tough for these young men to stay out of the downtown area, especially after a big win. But the best way to stay out of trouble is to avoid it! Listen to me acting all grown up! Anyway, the only way we are going to make it through to the SEC Championship and then the National Championship games is if we have our best players on the field and not in jail or on the sidelines because of suspensions.

Here is a shot of Matthew Stafford taking a breather on a hot day at practice.

Kickoff is getting closer and closer and will be here before you know it! I can’t wait for football season to start back up!

Go Dawgs!
