UGA’s Perno gets extension and a raise!

Georgia baseball coach David Perno, who led the Bulldogs to the College World Series for the third time in five years this past season, got a new contract on Wednesday. Perno agreed to a five-year, $2.25 million deal that was finalized on Tuesday. That puts him in the top-half of SEC coaches. Before leading the Bulldogs to an SEC championship and runner-up finish in the CWS this season, Perno had been among the lowest-paid coaches in the league. I am glad to see Georgia AD Damon Evans stepping up and making the commitment that the Diamond Dawgs are going to continue to be a major player in College baseball. Also, I am glad to see Perno getting rewarded for all of the great work he has done in the past several years.

Go Dawgs!
