Quick update on Meg
I have had a couple of people asking about how Meg is doing now since her chemo has ended. I am happy to report that she is doing great! She is back in her work routine and has gotten a lot of her energy back. There really hasn’t been any progress in her next surgeries due to the fact she went to another plastic surgeon for a second opinion on what the next steps are going to be for her. It was not that we didn’t trust the original doctor, but feel like he did a sloppy job and he has a horrible bedside manner. On the suggestion of my sister and her husband (who is a ENT doctor), Meg went to see a plastic surgeon ho is a friend of theirs. He was much nicer and seemed to care about his patients and not just the co-pay and insurance he was going to get. He didn’t really have a huge difference in plans for her than the original doctor but Meg liked him a lot more and felt like he would be better to work with. The only problem is this doctor is not in our insurance network. So Meg is having to jump through hoops to get approval for him to work on her. Right now we are still waiting on approval from the insurance company before she can set a surgery date. She is not in a huge hurry to get this done because she is just starting to feel good and is not ready to be knocked back down again. She has gotten her energy back and is beginning to train for the Peachtree Road Race in July. Even if she gets approval for this other doctor, I don’t think the surgery will be until mid July or so. She has started her hormone therapy and currently she is working on managing the side effects.

i hope Meg is doing okay with the hormone therapy and the side effects aren't too bad.
