Becks finally scores!

After a very disappointing season last year when David Beckham played sparingly for the LA Galaxy of the MLS, due to injuries, Becks is back healthy and ready to show the US what he can do. In the Galaxy’s first game, there was almost no offense, but they had a better showing in their second game of the season last night against the San Jose Earthquakes. Early in the first half, Becks was streaking down the side and got a great lead pass from Landon Donovan. He was able gather the ball and strike a low, hard shot past the keeper for the games first goal and Becks first goal in the MLS! He later repaid the favor to Donovan by setting him up for the games second goal. Becks also had some other passes that should have resulted in goals but his teammates weren’t able to get the ball in the back of the net. This is the David Beckham that we expected last year and hopefully he will be able to continue to play games like last night. Lord knows he is getting paid enough, 5 years for 250 million! That amount is just for playing soccer. He also gets paid nicely for his endorsements. Becks needs to play like that in every game to get the MLS back on the sports map.
