Trying to stay young!

Well on Wednesday afternoon, I am going to get into a SUV that is filled to the brim with camping gear and other supplies and drive down to the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in the South Florida Everglades. We are going to down to the Langerado Music Festival to see such bands as REM, 311, Beastie Boys, Ben Folds, Phil Lesh & Friends, Matisyahu, Umphrey’s McGee, Keller Williams, Martin Sexton, The Avett Brothers and many, many others. We are going down to have some fun, listen to some good music and do some camping in the swamp. We are trying to prove that we can still hang with the younger crowd. This could be a huge mistake! Keep in mind that it is in the Everglades! Also, it is suppose to rain everyday but one that we are down there, so the campsite could be a little wet and muddy. Not only are we going to have to deal with the elements, we are going to have to deal with bugs, snakes and other critters, and large crowds. It is a big time music festival. I know I am making everyone jealous, it all sounds so good so far! But it is not going to be all bad, we went ahead and got VIP tickets. Which include a secluded camping area, a daily catered buffet, discounted drinks, air-conditioned bathroom facilities and showers (that is key), a merchandise pack, access to the Oasis Lounge, exclusive viewing area for the main stages and daily massage tent (my personal favorite)! So we are getting back to our youth and doing it in style! It is going to be fun and we are going to see some great music, but the drive back is going to be grueling! That is when we are really going to feel our age!

I know some of you might be thinking, how can he leave his wife a week after she had a chemo treatment. Well, this was planned months ago and we had no idea she was going to get her 5th treatment postponed. This was supposed to be two weeks after her last treatment. As you know, she is doing much better with her recovery and she will have help the entire time I am gone from her parents and mine. During this time, I will not have access to a computer and therefore there won’t be any new posts. But look for me to have some reviews and stories next week!
Rock and Roll!
