Top Dog!

History was made last night in Madison Square Garden. Uno, became the first beagle to win the ultimate prize in the biggest dog show on earth, the Westminster Kennel Club. Uno was clearly a fan favorite and the fans proved it by giving him a stand ovation after the winner was announced. Not only does he look like underdog, he truly was an underdog. No beagle had even won the hound group since 1939 much less Best in Show! There were so many beautiful dogs in the show this year, my favorites were the St. Bernard and the few mastiffs, but it was pretty clear who the star was, Uno. The 15-inch beagle played to the crowd and really got them involved, which apparently is not common in dog shows. I am just glad another poodle didn’t win!
