Big Trade!

Well, there was a big trade today and it did center around Hossa, but it was not with the team that most hockey fans, including myself, thought it was going to be with. At the last minute, the Pittsburgh Penguins stepped up and presented a huge package for Hossa and Pascal Dupuis. It is tough to lose those two players, I really like both of them, but we did get some good players in return. That is huge! The Thrashers receive 25-year old forward Colby Armstrong, 24-year old forward Erik Christensen and center Angelo Esposito, the team's first-round draft pick (20th overall) from this year along with a 1st round pick in the next draft.

Armstrong (6-2, 188) is a right wing with 24 points this season on nine goals and 15 assists.

Christensen (6-1, 208) is a center with 20 points this season, on nine goals and 11 assists.

Esposito (6-1, 180) is a center playing junior league hockey in Quebec. He played the last two seasons with Quebec of the QMJHL where he had 98 and 79 points, respectively.

I don’t think Waddell could have gotten a better trade than he did. We have some players for the future and it didn’t knock us out of the playoff race this year. Now we just need a win tonight!

Go Thrashers!
